Zip through the air and ride a wild river!

Costa Rica offers white water rafting experiences that will get your adrenaline racing, and fascinating canopy tours high above the treetops. Now there’s an extraordinary way to enjoy both. Discover the natural marvels of Sarapiqui, an extensive region in the northeast with crystal clear rivers, an abundance of beautiful tropical forest and villages inhabited by friendly, hardworking people.

The highway from San José takes us through the majestic scenery of Braulio Carrillo National Park to Sarapiqui for two adventures: first a canopy tour in the midst of a high-altitude forest, and after lunch, rafting on the sparkling white waters of the Sarapiqui River.

The hour and a half-long Canopy Tour features nine cables that stretch over the forest top, with the last one crossing the Sarapiqui River.

The Sarapiqui River is ideal for families and those new to rafting (class II to class III), and the ride takes you through nine miles of vibrant scenery. The excitement of a sudden series of rapids followed by intervals of relaxing calm makes this an unforgettable experience for adventure-seekers, bird watchers and nature lovers.
